A breast cancer diagnosis and treatment can be overwhelming. Omaha-based non-profit, Project Pink’d, Inc. wants survivors who are going through the battle to know they are not alone. Giving back their time to help a fellow survivor is personal for all of the Project Pink’d volunteers scheduled to help on Saturday and Sunday. They’ve battled themselves, lost a loved one or stood by in support of a family member or friend. Together, they give back and give hope.
Saturday, November 5, volunteers gathered to assemble 1,000 Chemotherapy, Surgical and Radiation Healing Hearts Kits. Developed for breast cancer survivors by Project Pink’d survivors, these kits include items to help make a survivor a little more comfortable during their treatment and brighten their day. Each kit will also include a hand-written note of inspiration from a Project Pink’d survivor.
