My journey to Project Pink’d is a little different from others. In January of 2016, I became part of a club that nobody actually wants to join. At the time of my breast cancer diagnosis, I was a single mother to my daughter living in Charlotte, NC. As I navigated my way through treatment, I was told about this place called “Pink House”. The Pink House had something for every woman regardless of where they were in their breast cancer journey. I started attending different events and had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful women.
Fast forward to 2022, I was back in Omaha and looking for an organization that was similar to Pink House. Enters Project Pink’d. I was connected to Haley Amstrong on the Executive Advisory Committee, and I would eventually meet with Dave, Malinda and Shawn and be extended the invitation to join the EAC. While on the EAC I started volunteering my time and doing whatever I could to help at different events. I was able to see Project Pink’d’s mission in action. The survivors all in various stages of their breast cancer journey were offered education, resources and support.
I’m extremely humbled and very excited to be a part of the Board of Directors for Project Pink’d. I look forward to serving the community and continuing the mission and vision of Cynthia.
